Reverification of this project is requested as the previously issued Nationwide Permit will expire and
construction is not anticipated to be complete by the expiration.
Construction has started.
The previously issued 404 and 401 Permits and Application Package are attached.
There have been no changes to design or impacts since the previously issued permits and the plans
submitted with the original application package remain accurate and valid.
Section 7
The original Sec 7 review included several species that are no longer shown for the area. The original review
was done using County lists, which showed 11 species, but IPaC only shows 4 listed species, and one
proposed species. All of the listed species shown on the newer IPaC review were included with our original
Section 7 analysis, and there are still no critical habitats listed for the project area.
While some of the trees have been removed, there are trees remaining that will not be removed until later in
2023.
Archaeology and Historic Properties
There have been no changes to Archaeology and Historic Properties since the previously issued permits.
Tribal Coordination
The list of tribes with interest in Watauga County has not changed, and all tribes were previously contacted.
NCDOT is hereby requesting reverification under Nationwide Permit 14.
