Describe the existing conditions on the site and the general land use in the vicinity of the project at the time of this application:* The project site is located along Little Snow Creek in Danbury, NC. The portion of stream to be restored runs through a cow pasture. A stream restoration project was completed on this reach of stream in early 2017, however several large storms resulted in the failure of portions of the original restoration work. The project is in a rural area and the surrounding land use is primarily agriculture and forest. 4b. Explain the purpose of the proposed project: * The project purpose is the restoration of approximately 300 linear feet of stream to repair bank failures from a previous stream restoration. The project will regrade and stabilize a failed bank adjacent to a barn and further stabilize a stream ford to prevent future erosion. 4i. Describe the overall project in detail, including indirect impacts and the type of equipment to be used: * To accomplish the stream restoration project, grade control structures will be installed, eroding banks will be stabilized and stream channel dimensions will be adjusted to ensure long-term stability. A typical pump -around system shall be used during all stream remediation efforts to ensure that all stream work can be conducted in dry conditions. Standard construction equipment such as a tracked excavator, skid steer and dump truck will be used to complete this project. At the conclusion of the construction, all disturbed areas shall be planted and seeded to ensure a healthy stand of vegetation. 5. Jurisdictional Determinations 5a.
