The project includes the construction of a pump station, sewer forcemain, and water line. This project is an extension of utilities located South of US Highway 64 which are being extended North to serve the community and future development. There has not been a JD submitted for the Town of Apex Pump Station project. Most of the sewer line is located within Chatham County with a small portion of the Southern end of the alignment being located in Wake County. Proposed stream impacts include two intermittent channels, CH 100, as impact S1 which is 20 linear feet (0.001 acre) and CH 200 as impact S2 which is also 20 linear feet (0.001 acre). Proposed wetland impacts include two Corps jurisdictional wetlands as impact W1 (WL 1000, N 0.026 acre) and impact W2 (WL 2000, —0.019 acre). The project has been designed and engineered to avoid and minimize impacts to the greatest extent possible. No perennial streams are being impacted. All proposed impacts are temporary trenching during construction and will be restored as construction progresses. Only a small portion of two Corps jurisdictional intermittent channels and two Corps jurisdictional wetlands are proposed to be impacted. The alignment was designed to cross features perpendicular and at narrow location to minimize impacts. Overall, there will be approximately 40 linear feet (0.002 acre) of temporary stream impact and approximately 0.045 acre of temporary wetland impact. Remediation of impacts, all of which are temporary in nature, to aquatic resources will occur immediately following the installation of the utility line. During installation of the utilities at the two stream crossings the upper and lower limits of the impact area will be dammed with sandbags and a pump around zone will be established and maintained during the installation at each location. Stream substrate and wetland soil will be stockpiled during the initial excavation of the trench. After utility line installation is complete the stream substrate/wetland soil will be replaced in the stream bed to establish the appropriate grade and substrate. Stream morphology, wetland hydrology and floodplain connectivity will not be altered from the sewer installation. ATLAS Environmental, Inc. 338 S. Warning: Soil Map may not be valid at this scale. Enlargement of maps beyond the scale of mapping can cause misunderstanding of the detail of mapping and accuracy of soil line placement. The maps do not show the small areas of contrasting soils that could have been shown at a more detailed scale. Please rely on the bar scale on each map sheet for map measurements. Source of Map: Natural Resources Conservation Service Web Soil Survey URL: Coordinate System: Web Mercator (EPSG:3857) Maps from the Web Soil Survey are based on the Web Mercator projection, which preserves direction and shape but distorts distance and area. A projection that preserves area, such as the Albers equal-area conic projection, should be used if more accurate calculations of distance or area are required. This product is generated from the USDA-NRCS certified data as of the version date(s) listed below. Soil Survey Area: Chatham County, North Carolina Survey Area Data: Version 25, Jan 21, 2022 Soil Survey Area: Wake County, North Carolina Survey Area Data: Version 22, Jan 21, 2022 Your area of interest (AOI) includes more than one soil survey area. These survey areas may have been mapped at different scales, with a different land use in mind, at different times, or at different levels of detail. This may result in map unit symbols, soil properties, and interpretations that do not completely agree across soil survey area boundaries. Soil map units are labeled (as space allows) for map scales 1:50,000 or larger.
