It's just a Preliminary JD application. For EEP projects, we get an approved prelim JD from the IRT (Corps and DWR) that confirms the existing wetland locations and stream determination IDs (perennial /intermittent /ephemeral), etc. so that we can proceed with designing and writing our mitigation /restoration plan. Once that plan gets approved by the IRT and EEP then we apply for all the applicable construction and regulatory permits. It's that EEP stream mitigation project that Eric Kulz originally worked on as part of the IRT but left before we had completed this part of the process. I received approval from Tyler Crumley of the Corps of Engineers last week and just wanted to follow up with you to see if you had any questions. Ginny Baker has informed me that you are the person I need to contact. I just completed a preliminary JD application for the project and have sent it off to Tyler Crumbley of the Corps for review and we also send a copy of the application to DWR as well (usually to Eric as he was the IRT rep for most of the EEP sites) for their review and acceptance of the perennial /intermittent /ephemeral calls, etc. This was a pretty straightforward project —just an incised ditch through a farm field. Feel free to contact me or Tyler for any specific questions about the site (or Eric I guess if he's not too busy over at the City of Cary!). And is the following mailing address for you accurate? I know I have met a Scott over at Baker more than once. Will I am the contact for email but since I work in a different unit and everything gets checked -in over in Eric's old group you could instead send hard copy project info to Shelton Sullivan in the 401 & Buffer Permitting Unit (anything sent there I will get and review if it is an EEP project). Soft copy project info you could send to me and CC Shelton until Eric is replaced. If you are on any bank projects our regional staff would be your primary contact again until Eric is replaced (later this year????). Ginny From: King, Scott [ mailto: Scott. I was not out at the initial site review as Eric was. I am the DWR contact so feel free to follow up with me on anything and I will try to help. His position probably will not be filled until late in the year or next. I am out the rest of this week, but will be available all of next.
