HomeMy WebLinkAbout20081473 Ver 4_Year 2 Monitoring Report Review_20141121 Merritt, Katie From:Merritt, Katie Sent:Friday, November 21, 2014 1:11 PM To:Norton Webster Cc:Merritt, Katie; 'Aaron Speaks' Subject:Arrington Bridge II Year 2 Hey Norton, I received the Year 2 Monitoring Report for the Arrington Bridge Phase II Mitigation Bank on October 30, 2014. I have finalized my review and have the following comments: 1.VP 2 – there is a discrepancy between the Table 2 Stem Counts and the Data Sheet for this plot. The data sheet indicates 12 stems surviving but the Table 2 indicates 13. It appears that the water oak, which was recorded as “missing” on the data sheet for this year, was counted as “surviving” and added in the table. 2.What does a “3” mean under vigor? Is it on a scale of 1-5 or 1-10, with the higher # being “very vigorous”? 3.DWR agrees with McAdams, that the site needs to be replanted. 50% of the vegetation plots were failing and half of them were failing by 3 or more stems. However, due to the fact we are only in Year 2, and there is a chance that some of the “missing” species may be found as they grow taller than the surrounding shrubby vegetation, DWR does not feel it is necessary to withhold the credit release this year. Please provide an explanation for #1 comment above. Or, provide a revised Table 2 or revised Data sheet (email a .pdf and that will suffice) showing the correction. I am working remotely today, in case you call the office. I wasn’t sure if this should go to George B or not, but please let me know so that I can copy him on all of the other reports’ comments.
