In response to the letter of August 24,2007 , I am requesting that a
further study be done to verify the findings that Mrs. Lauren
Witherspoon, Environmental Senior Specialist reported to me in her
letter of August 23,2007.
When we met at the site on August 16,2007, she indicated to me that
she felt that the western portion did not show any ground water for at
least 90 feet fron the eastern edge of the lot. However, there were a
few `pot holes' that had standing water, and she assumed that there
was some ground water drainage as there had been a relatively long
drought. However, the water could have well collected the previous
night when there was a verified storm with measurable waterfall in
the area. Also the apartments to the east have a 48 inch drain pipe
adjacent to our lot 3 that dumps storm water as well as sprinkler
system water into the drain.
My contention that although at one time there was a farm pond on
the land that created a creek that flowed south, once the 19 acres
were developed by Trammel Crow of Charlotte, the water became
storm water from the complex , and no longer creates a true stream.
The city of Raleigh also built the Lead Mine Extension thru our

to fact, we have been the victim of someone else's construction
projects and just a small amount of drainage is from our own land.
Therefore, I request another visit to the site as Mrs. Witherspoon
advised me to do if I disagreed with her findings.a second visit.
