Typical Cross Section Description:
A typical section is a 4-lane (11' width lane) roadway with divided raised median.
Including 5' bicycle lanes with 2'-6" curb and gutter and a 4' planting strip with 5' sidewalk
for pedestrian accommodations.
Typical section consists of a 4-lane roadway with a shared center turn lane and 2'-6"
curb and gutter with sidewalk and no planting strip.

Quality Impacts)
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is proposing to widen 1.1 miles of Russ Avenue (US 276) from the intersection of SR 1202 (Phillips Rd) to US 23
Business (Main Street). A 4-lane median divided facility is proposed including bicycle and pedestrian accommodations. Bridge number 430186 over Richland Creek will be
replaced as part of this project.
