Short answer is, I messed up. I misunderstood what was being requested, even though it was very clearly spelled out. You were consulted and concurred that there would be an adverse effect, but you had not been provided, and obviously had not reviewed the Finding of Adverse Effect. I apologize for my confusion. Please see the attached letter and report. Please provide any comments or concerns to me as soon as possible. The replacement of the bridge will require a Major permit from the NC Division of Coastal Management as well and they will be forwarding the permit application for your review. Tracey L. According to the FAE, NCDOT is proposing to mitigate the adverse effect with its standard - add to the NCDOT Historic Bridge website. I'm not sure that this is adequate mitigation, but they have not approached us with a draft yet. 1 Expect that DOT is waiting to make sure the USACE is on board with where we all are. And, their next step will be asking you to take part in MOA drafting.. I notice that they have asked you to share the FAE with us. Is your email to me supposed to do that? Hope this helps. -- Renee Gledhill-Earley Environmental Review Coordinator NC State Historic Preservation Office 4617 Mail Service Center Raleigh, NC 27699-4617 Phone: 919-807-6579 Fax: 919-807-6599 http://www.hpo.dcr.state.nc.us Special Notice: To expedite review of your project, you may wish to follow the directions found at http://www.hpo.ncdcr.gov/er/er_email_submittal.html for submitting requests via email. *This message does not necessarily represent the policy of the Department of Cultural Resources. Is there an MOA in the works? I got no response from ACHP about the project, but that didn't surprise me. I have a permit application through the Low Impact Bridge Replacement Program, but wanted to check with you before I issue. Tracey Tracey L.
