I’ve reviewed your application dated received October 14, 2014 and revised permit drawings dated received November
13, 2014 requesting a Corps NW 3 and DWR 401 for a culvert replacement on SR 1284 (Butler Dr) in Northampton
County (DWR project # 14-1096). Water Quality Certification # 3883 is issued for this activity. Written approval is not
required for use of this certification provided all the conditions can be met. If any of the conditions cannot be met,

Subject: Northampton SR1284 Butler Drive Pipe Replacement Revisions

After the bridge section discussed the permitting conditions and requirements, the project design has been revised to
increase the burial on the outlet of the pipe to 12”. Their concerns with potential head-cutting on the outlet end will be
monitored. If head-cutting begins to occur on the outlet end, baffles will be installed to reduce the water velocity inside
the pipe to prevent erosion.
