Re: Carolina Beach Pier
Project Narrative
Carolina Beach, NC
Dear Bryan:
September 1, 2022
The owners of Carolina Beach Pier would like to replace a 450' long existing, damaged section
of ocean pier. They would also like to add a 550' long timber ocean pier. This will rebuild the pier
to its original length at the time of Hurricane Fran — 1,000' long. The pier will have a covered
60'x60' T head. We propose to expand the pier landward an additional 188 SF. We propose to
make the following additions to the existing pier house: 1) add a 400 SF elevated timber deck
above an existing timber ramp and 2) add a new 665 SF roof over an existing deck and timber
ramp.
The project proponent hereby certifies that all information contained herein is true, accurate,
and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief.
The project proponent hereby requests that the certifying authority review and take action on
this CWA 401 certification request within the applicable reasonable period of time.
We reserve the right to modify our conclusions and recommendations if new information becomes
available.
If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact us.
Sincerely,
STATURE ENGINEERING, P.C.
