SUBJECT: Fast -Track Application Narrative
Town of Woodland — Peachtree/Chestnut Street Sewer Replacement
File 2021032 D
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide a narrative of the Town of Woodland's proposed
Sanitary Sewer Replacement project to accompany the project's Fast -Track Application.
The major items of work for this project submitted for review under the Fast Track permitting
program include laying approximately 1.510 LF of 10'' PVC pipe, 210 LF of 10" DIP pipe,
installing four (4) new manholes, abandoning three (3) manholes, and rehabbing two (2) manholes.
This project is intended to provide improvements to the Woodland Sanitary Sewer System by
laying new pipe, replacing services, rehabbing manholes, etc. An improvement of this project
includes grouting and abandoning a 10" vitrified clay gravity line that passes underneath an
occupied residence. New 10" gravity sewer will reroute existing gravity sewage to be installed in
Town controlled roadway right-of-way along East Peachtree Street. All of the sewer lines and
manholes proposed for replacement in this project are greater than 40 years in age. The purpose of
this project is to reduce infiltration and inflow in the Town of Woodland's sanitary sewer collection
system by replacing vitrified clay gravity sewer pipes and brick manholes exhibiting inflow and
infiltration (III).
No new flow is anticipated, and no new flow is being requested, with this permit application.
