Describe the attachments or comments: NCWRC understands the project is continued maintenance of an existing water intake system for the Greenville Utilities Commission (GUC). Therefore, previous comments and conditions remain requested. This includes the February 15-September 30 in -water work moratorium and the intake screen design of the recommended 1.0 millimeter screen size and 0.5 ft. / sec. intake velocities GUC has agreed to in the past. These recommendations protect the PNA designated waters of the Tar River and the protected species in the area such as Atlantic sturgeon, Neuse River waterdog, Carolina madtom, Roanoke slabshell, Eastern lampmussel, Tidewater mucket, yellow lance, and potentially other freshwater mussel species found in this area of the Tar River.
