Hi Doug,
The shoreline impacted is 60 linear feet. The area impacted below the high water mark (I'm not sure how to measure the
full pond level), is about 5 ft in height, so I guess 300 square feet, and about 2 feet above, 120 square feet..
Does this sound more accurate?

If you go to the link above, scroll down to the shoreline header and you will find the online application. (YOU DO NOT
have to do the pre -file notification).
Please include in application the following:
Current photos of your shoreline and the buffer
A plat of your property (can be obtained from your local county GIS website)
Aerial photos (can be obtained from your local county GIS website)
A work/site diagram that includes the following:
Length of shoreline (in linear feet)
Measurement (in feet) of proposed work ABOVE full pond or top of bank
Measurement (in feet) of proposed work BELOW full pond or top of bank

A vicinity location map (can be obtained from Google Maps)
A signed version (by all parties involved) of the Catawba Riparian Buffer form (attached in two formats; just use one)

Here is the original email that I sent last year. I did not receive a response so I assume these documents are what you
need. I do not have checks with my checking account so is it okay if I send a check separately from my bank, or can I pay
with a credit/debit card?
I'm not sure what I need to do about the Water Certification and could use some guidance on that.

• Copy of a registered survey of the lot — surveyor's signature and stamp must be visible (County Plat Map
is also acceptable - the location of the dock must be represented on the map)
• Copy of the 401 Water Quality Certification from the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) — Alan
Johnson and Doug Perez with DWR are copied on this email. Please reach out to them with any
questions specifically regarding the 401 application.
• $300 application fee made payable to Duke Energy ($100 standard fee plus $200 unauthorized work fee,
see fee schedule for appropriate fees)
