Response to Audit — Town of Elon
Dear Mr. Reed,
The Town of Elon received NC DEQ's Notice of Deficiency and MS4 Audit Report on July 15, 2022.
We were disappointed by the outcome of a Notice of Deficiency as the Town of Elon is dedicated to
being good stewards of the environment. We have consulted with our Town Engineer and Stormwater
Manager, Josh Johnson, P.E. on the audit report and Mr. Johnson's summary is attached. As noted in Mr.
Johnson's letter, the Town of Elon intends to comply with the Notice of Deficiency and make
improvements to the program.
As the Town works through these items, I have instructed Mr. Johnson and other staff to work directly
with you and DEMLR staff to concentrate on improving the Town's stormwater program and if there are
any questions, please feel free to discuss directly with Josh or myself.
