J. Noland, Regional Supervisor Fayetteville Regional Office SUBJECT: Amendment to Effluent Monitoring Requirements NPDES Permit No. NC0035904 North Carolina Department of Corrections McCain Correctional Institute Hoke County The representativeness of self -monitoring reports submitted by the subject facility has recently been a matter of question to the Fayetteville Regional Office staff. For this reason, it is the request of this office that the monitoring frequency for BODs, NH3, TSS, and Fecal Coliform be increased to reflect the changes as shown of the attached page M3. Although this permit is to be renewed in December of 1988, it appears reasonable to request these revisions by July 1988. This will significantly improve the data base for evaluating this facility. If additional information or clarification is required, please advise. MJN/KA/tf Enclosure
