Subject: Complaint of Cattle in Creek
Stan Delaney Farm
Union County, NC
Dear Mr. Delaney:
This Office has received a complaint concerning cattle entering the creek. Our files indicate a
similiar complaint and a Notice of Violation being issued on July 16, 1996. Subsequent to this,
you indicated that you had met with Mr. Phil Loudermilk of the Natural Resource Conservation
Service and a plan had been developed to alleviate this problem.
It is requested that a written response be submitted to this office by April 18, 1997 indicating in
detail the actions taken to correct the noted problem. Please address your response to Mr.
Johnson.
Be advised that North Carolina General Statutes provide for penalties of up to $10,000 per day
per violation as well as criminal penalties for violations of state environmental laws and
regulations. If you have any questions concerning this report, please do not hesitate to contact

Subject: Animal Complaint
Stan Delaney Farm
Union County, NC
Mr. Delaney has been notified by certified mail of your complaint
concerning cattle in the creek received on March 31, 1997 Mr.
Alan Johnson of this Office. Mr. Delaney was reminded of the
earlier Notice of Violation he received dated July, 1, 1996., and
was informed of the civil and criminal penalties that could be
levied due to violations of state environmental laws and
regulations.
Also, Mr. Johnson has spoken with Mr.Phil Loudermilk of the
Natural Resource Conservation Service who had helped developed a
plan to alleviate the problem. As conveyed to you, we will await
Mr. Delaney's response to this letter. If no such response is
forthcoming, further action will be taken as deemed necessary.
