'NC Di` OF '' AND PlAr y :4!ff?. ?c. Gv WJOOR!='i. ryr-Y APR 1 '5 200 April 12, 2002 North Carolina Department of Water Quality Allen Johnson 919 North Main Street Mooresville, NC 28115 Dear Mr. Johnson, This letter is in reference to your telephone call regarding my cattle preconditioning facility on New Town Road near Waxhaw. I have worked closely with Jerry Simpson, Union County Extension Agent, in the planning and design of the facility. We continue our relationship and speak regularly about issues related to my preconditioning facility. A rotational paddock design is utilized which moves the cattle from one area to another. This allows the ground cover adequate time to rebound before the paddock is again filled with cattle. Grass buffers are present between paddocks and all streams, ponds and creeks. I have met with Phil. Loudermilk, Union County District Conservationist. He has toured the facility. Currently, Mr. Loudermilk and I are working on a farm plan for my entire farming operation. We expect to be completed within three months. It is my desire to run an efficient facility which will produce high quality beef while following applicable regulations. It is my intention to continue to work with you and your agency to ensure any problems with my facility are resolved. If you have any questions or require additional information at this time, please feel free to contact me. Ben Ezzell 5m0IC irvi©ck ,F2r 5(G C6DorC J)C s. cAx /uc 2e3t73.
