On Friday, February 4, 2011 Campbell Soup Supply Company of Maxton (Spray Irrigation Permit #
WQ0003626) experienced run-off in the front of Field C. The contributing factors to this were as
follows: a rain event in the excess of 1.5 inches of rainfall and the end gun had inadvertently been
turned on while work was being done to the program. Multiple engineers were present at the site
Friday morning to optimize and troubleshoot issues with our new control system and EQ Tank. The
run-off was discovered around 11:30 AM during the field inspections that are conducted every two
hours as mandated by the permit. The run-off was immediately stopped by building up the area with
dirt to block the run-off and create a dam. The operator's did not realize that the end gun was
operating on Pivot C until they were making field inspections at 11:30 AM, the end gun was
immediately stopped. During the earlier field inspection at around 9:45 AM there was no visible run-
off in the front of Field C. It appeared that the run-off had only been occurring for a short period of
time.
There is another issue related to the spray fields that I wanted to communicate as just a matter of
information. The spray fields lost power Wednesday morning, February 2, 2011 due to a pole break.
The spray fields lost power for 110 minutes during the time that the largest quantity of the wastewater
is discharged to the spray fields. For this•period of time the wastewater had to be diverted to Field B.
We are currently in the process of pumping the field out. If you need any additional information,
