This one looks fine and I have no comments. Go ahead and issue unless you have concerns. 07-1505 Seven Falls Golf and River Club -Henderson County. You were out at this one on 8/2/07. a Clement Riddle project. I have several questions/concerns. The boulder terracing method of streambank stabilization is something i have not seen before. I am not sure why they are doing this, rather than just sloping the banks, matting and live staking. Perhaps it allows them to get to the terrace elevation quicker and have less sloped area along the stream corridor. They have provided no information on the type of vegetation they plan to use, other than "establishing native plant communities". I am concerned that since they are doing a golf course, they may not be using woody vegetation, which is imperative for streambank stabilization.. In addition, they did not provide any information on planted riparian zone widths . Based on the scale of the plan sheets, the buffer width appears to be from five to 25 feet in width. Since it is not for mitigation we can't require 30 feet. However, from a stability perspective, five feet is not going to do much. Give me a call if you want to discuss. Eric Eric W.
