High Rock Reservoir
Dear Mr. Thomas:
Alcoa Power Generating Inc. (APGI) Yadkin Division understands that Mr. Trent Kirk is
submitting a Pre - Construction Notice to your office proposing a shoreline stabilization design
plan at his property at 1914 Anchor Lane, Lexington, North Carolina on High Rock Reservoir.
APGI has reviewed the stabilization plan with the property owner and Mr. Jeff Oden, an
engineer with Stewart, and APGI has no objection to the rip rap that is proposed to be placed
along the shoreline and below the full pool reservoir elevation. We understand that because the
existing house is in close proximity to the eroding shoreline, rip rap will be placed directly
against the eroding shoreline without any excavation or grading. We further understand that
there will be an estimated 122 yd of rip rap placed in the reservoir and there will be a
corresponding loss of storage in the reservoir.
