Now, when we resubmit in the spring we most likely will exceed at least one of these but I was planning on getting a permit from NCDENR anyway. The school has stepped up and will pay the permit fees with money from storm water funds. PS — William I would still like you to process the permit initial work under a NWP 13. 1 have attached a revised PCN with the NWP changed to #13 for your convenience. At this time we would like to withdraw the NCDENR permit application and keep the impacts for the initial work at less than 40 linear feet. We will reapply this spring when we have a comprehensive analysis of the exact linear footage that needs repair. The only ones we've previously been directed by the General Assembly to waive in the past were designated Emergency Watershed Protection projects following hurricanes. I am sorry about that. I am an adjunct professor at UNCC and am working with the school to do some minor stream work on an intermittent tributary to Mallard Creek in the Yadkin 05 HUC. This work is described on the attached Sequence of Construction and Plan View. As I mentioned, this is a school project funded by the Carolina Green Initiative (CGI) which is a UNCC Club that is funded by a $1 fee that students pay with their tuition. Therefore, we have a limited budget. All work will be done by hand with student volunteers. In the letter from NCDENR dated October 16, 2014 you have requested a Permit Fee of $570. As I understand the fee structure, if we are over 150 linear feet of stream work then the permit fee is $570 but only $240 for projects under 150 linear feet. Because our project budget is being funded by CGI I am asking if these fees can be waived as this is an environmentally beneficial education project.
