279 Improvements from Redbud Drive (SR 2466) to Union New
Hope Road (SR 2435) in Gaston County, North Carolina, WBS#
44393.1.1
Dear Mr. Ridings,
This is to inform you that North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT)
Division 12 has begun studying proposed improvements for the subject project.
The project is included in the approved 2020-2029 State Transportation
Improvement Program (STIP) with right of way acquisition beginning in June 2023
and construction beginning December 2025. It is anticipated that a Minimum
Criteria Determination Checklist (MCDC) will be prepared for the project in
accordance with the N.C. Environmental Policy Act (SEPA).
You may have previously received a version of this letter on February 8, 2018. You
are receiving this notification because the project has resumed planning and design,
the project study area has expanded, and additional areas are required to be
surveyed for potential environmental impacts.
Federal, state, and local agencies are being contacted for their comments regarding
this project. If you have any questions or comments concerning the project, please
