I've included some helpful information below: - Section B o 2a: Big Branch o 2b: C; NSW o 2c: What is the length of the stream that is on your property? If it is along your entire property boundary, you could put the length of your property. o 3a: Single family residential property, and then describe what is currently in the site that you are wanting to impact. Are there trees? o 3b & 3c: I've attached a pdf called "4508 Latimer Rd, Raleigh" that contains these maps. Please upload with your application. Section C....la — Neuse River Basin o 1c— ■ Site# - Reason: What is the impact? (Porch, deck, residential property expansion, etc) ■ Stream Name: You can say "Stream 1" or "Stream A" since you only have one stream on the property ■ Buffer Impact: Is this a permanent impact (like a building) or a temporary impact (like a temporary road for construction equipment) ■ Impact Type: See the Table of Uses in the Neuse River Riparian Buffer Rules for what "Impact Type" it is (Allowable with Authorization or Allowable with Mitigation) — this form hasn't been completely updated since the Rules were modified in 2020, so it is using the old phrasing. You can use "Allowable" and I can help you figure out if Mitigation would be required. ■ Zone 1: Square footage of impacts that are within 30 feet of the stream. ■ Zone 2: Square footage of impacts that are between 30-50 feet of the stream. • (Your architect should be able to help you calculate the square footage) - Section E o la. Propose project will not create concentrated stormwater flow through the buffer o lc. Not sure why it still says required. You could potentially upload a copy of the plat for your parcel here to show that it is a single family residential property. - Section F o 2a — I am not aware of this being a Violation Site. Please make sure to upload a copy of a site plan that shows the proposed impact in relation to Zones 1 and 2 of the buffer. I've attached an example of a Riparian Buffer Impact Map. Additionally, please make sure to explain avoidance and minimization of the project. For example, is there a way to build the addition to where it is outside the buffer or a impacts a smaller portion of the buffer? Did you look at alternate layouts of the addition? 1 Please note that the Raleigh Regional Office is experiencing a very high volume of applications at this time, so it may be up to 60 days before the application is reviewed. Hope this helps! Do not click links or open attachments unless you verify. Send all suspicious email as an attachment to Report Spam. Hi Ms. Cohn! We are starting the process of remodeling and potential adding on to our house and since we live next to a creek, we need to start the process of seeing if we can get authorization to build in Zone 2. We just had a land survey done and our architect let us know we would need authorization before we could proceed with any plans involving Zone 2. I logged on to the DEQ.NC.GOV web site to start the Buffer -Authorization permit and have gotten stuck on: - Section B o question 2a-3c....Nearest body for water and Water Qualify Classification, estimated linear feet of all existing streams, 8.5x11 excerpt of the most recent published County NRCS Soil Survey. Section C....la — which protected Basin? The link says not found o lc — map label, impact type, square feet (are we estimating?) Section E o la. what type of SCM are you providing — I don't know what this means! o lc. Diffuse Flow Documentation — PDF — where would we get this? - Section F o 2a....I have no idea! The house is located at 4508 Latimer Rd Raleigh NC 27609 in Wake County. The name on the deed is Kelly Ortman (former name, I haven't updated yet!). Can you help me with how to complete those pieces? Or are we going about this all the wrong way??!! Ha ha! Our architect let us know we would need to start the process and sent us come links but that's about all we know! I've saved a draft of everything I've completed on the application so far...not sure if you're able to access it or if it would be helpful? But it's saved under my personal email, kellycourtneyb@gmail.com 2 Thank you so much for your help!
