Al I,
Please see the attached document for the results of the field survey for the Schweinitz's Sunflower ( Helianthus
schweinitzii). Since no individuals were observed, the project has been determined to have No Effect on this
species. This document should satisfy the remaining requirements in regards to T and E species for both the PCE and the
Nationwide Permit.
Also,
The 2 proposed bridge stream crossings will have no impact to jurisdictional resources.
Please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions that you have. Once the PCE has been approved, I will
forward on to Mr. Williams with the USACE as requested.
Thanks,
-Jake

Re: Threatened and Endangered Species Survey for Helianthus schweinitzii
To whom it may concern,
Biological Conclusion: No Effect
Suitable habitat for Schweinitz's Sunflower ( Helianthus schweinitzii) is present in the study area in the
non - wooded areas along the proposed greenway, particularly in the open fields of the western half of
the project. Surveys were conducted throughout all areas of suitable habitat on October 7, 2014. No
individuals of Schweinitz's Sunflower were observed. A review of NCNHP records, updated February
2011, indicates no known occurrences within 1.0 mile of the study area.
If you have any questions or comments regarding the survey, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
