Persons Contacted and Telephone Number: Mr. G. Frank Sells, Superintendent (919) 593-8146 5. Directions to Site: From Winston-Salem travel N.C. Highway 8 North thru Danbury, N.C. At Lawsonville, turn left on S.R. 1496. Travel S.R. 1496 until turning right on S.R. 1499; the school is located on the north side of S.R. 1499, and the treatment works is located on the south side. 6. Discharge Point - Latitude: 36°° 27' 47" Longitude: 80 16' 58" Attach a USGS Map Extract and indicated treatment plant site and discharge point on map. USGS Quad No. B17-NE or USGS Quad Name Hanging Rock 7. Size (land available for expansion and upgrading): There is adequate land for expansion although it is not anticipated that the need will arise. 8. Topography (relationship to flood plain included): The topography at the WWTP is very slightly sloped; the facility is not located within a flood plain. 9. Location of nearest dwelling: None within 500.0'. 10. Receiving stream or affected surface waters: U.T. to Dan River a. Classification: "C" "Trout" b. River Basin and Subbasin No.: Roanoke 03-02-01 c. Describe receiving stream features and pertinent downstream uses: The Dan River is used for both primary and secondary recreation. Approximately one mile below the subject discharge the Dan becomes "WSIII". A portion of the River farther downstream is under study for a "B" classification.
