5. Directions to Site: From Winston-Salem travel N.C.
Highway 8 North thru Danbury, N.C. At Lawsonville,
turn left on S.R. 1496. Travel S.R. 1496 until turning
right on S.R. 1499; the school is located on the north
side of S.R. 1499, and the treatment works is located
on the south side.

There is adequate land for expansion although it is not
anticipated that the need will arise.
8. Topography (relationship to flood plain included):
The topography at the WWTP is very slightly sloped; the
facility is not located within a flood plain.
9. Location of nearest dwelling:
None within 500.0'.
10. Receiving stream or affected surface waters: U.T. to
Dan River

c. Describe receiving stream features and pertinent
downstream uses: The Dan River is used for both
primary and secondary recreation. Approximately
one mile below the subject discharge the Dan
becomes "WSIII". A portion of the River farther
downstream is under study for a "B" classification.
