Subject: Permit extension for TIP # R-2417AA
Ms. Hair,
The North Carolina Department of Transportation, Highway Division 8, is formally
requesting an extension of the US Army Corp of Engineers Action ID # SAW-2002-
20899, (TIP # R-24177AA). In our estimation this project cannot be completed under the
current permit, and will require that the pen-nit be extended for at least 12 months,
through December 31, 2015. Although the amount of work remaining on the project
should not necessarily require a full year to complete, we feel that it would be prudent to
allow for extra time based on the history of the project, and difficulties experienced by the
contractor.
We are also requesting the extension of the corresponding NCDWR certification via c.c.
of this letter to David Wainwright.
This request for an extension is necessary due to the contractor not having completed the
scheduled work in a timely manner.
