On September 12, 2007, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) issued a Request For More
Information Letter for the above-referenced property/project.
Based on a phone conversation with your consultant, DWQ has re-reviewed the application
package and determined that the project fits into the category of stream restoration (Condition
No. 2 of General Certification No. 3626). As such, proposed stream restoration projects that are
not being conducted for compensatory mitigation or to resolve a violation do not require written
application to and approval from DWQ, and do not require payment of an application fee.
Condition No. 5, as cited in the September 12, 20071etter, applies to stream stabilization projects
only, and does not apply to your project.
In addition, since the project is not going to result in the loss/permanent impact of streams,
determination of the intermittent/perennial classification of the stream by DWQ or Division of
Forest Resources personnel will not be required.
No application is required for this project, and the Pre-Construction Notification will be filed as a
courtesy copy. As per Condition 2 of General Certification No. 3626, the applicant is required to
notify the Division in writing with three copies of detailed restoration plans and specifications
before the project begins. These copies have already been submitted with the PCN.
