RE: Refinement of CAMA Major Permit No. 72-14
Bridge No. 92 over canal to Little River on SR 1220, Pasquotank County
Dear Mr. Willis:
This letter is in response to your letter dated September 16, 2014, including the two attached drawings dated
August 7, 2014. The letter requests a change to the location and alignment of the temporary detour as originally
authorized by CAMA Major Permit No. 72-14, which was issued on August 7, 2014 for the above referenced
project. The revised design also includes the addition of toe protection on the fill slopes of the temporary
detour to reduce the footprint. According to your request,this change is proposed in response to a request from
an adjacent landowner that the N.C. Department of Transportation(NCDOT) avoid several mature trees in their
front yard. The realignment would not result in any additional impacts to wetlands.
Please be advised that through this Letter of Refinement, the N.C. Division of Coastal Management(DCM)
conveys its determination that the above referenced request is consistent with existing State rules and
regulations and is in keeping with the original purpose and intent of CAMA Major Permit No. 72-14. This
letter shall be attached to the original of CAMA Permit No. 72-14, and both documents shall be readily
available on site when a DCM representative inspects the project for compliance. All conditions and
stipulations of the active permit remain in force unless altered herein.
