Grimsley, Secretary DIVISION OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT February 5, 1982 MEMORANDUM TO: Robert Brown - 205(g) FROM: Mark Lewis - Monitoring & Technical Services Branch SUBJECT: Effluent Limitations Irwin Creek WWTP The model for the Irwin Creek WWTP has been recalibrated. Because of the recalibration, the limits for the projected 201 expansion have become slightly less stringent than indicated in the previous 201 letter dated June 25, 1980. At that time, we indicated that the effluent limits for a 15 MGD facility located on Irwin Creek would be as follows: Summer (April 1 - Oct. 31) Winter (Nov. 1 - Mar. 31) BOD5 = 12 mg/1 NH,H4 7 mg/1 DO = 5 mg/1 Fecal Coliform = 1000/100 ml pH = 6-9 S.U. TSS = 30 mg/1 BOD5 = 24 mg/1 NHS-N = 14 mg/1 DO = 5 mg/1 Fecal Coliform = 1000/100 ml pH = 6-9 S. U. TSS = 30 mg/1 The present limits for a 15 MGD facility have been revised to the following: Summer (April 1 - Oct. 31) Winter (Nov. 1 - Mar. 31) BOD5 = 16 mg/1 NH-N = 8 mg/1 DO = 5 mg/1 Fecal Coliform = 1000/100 ml pH = 6-9 S.U. TSS = 30 mg/1 BOD5 = 30 mg/1 NIJg-N = 18 mg/1 DO = 5 mg/1 Fecal Coliform = 1000/100 ml pH = 6-9 S.U. TSS = 30 mg/1 If you have any questions or if this change poses any problems in the 201 process, please call. ML:cs P. O. Box 27687 Raleigh, N.
