Downstream Facility Name (Sewer): Durham County Sewer Downstream Permit Number: WQCS00038 Page 1 of 6 FTSE 10-18 PROJECT NARRATIVE TMC Page Road, An IAR Project May 10, 2022 The TMC Page Road, An IAR project involves the construction of a worship center, a Sunday School classroom, and an assembly space. The site is located at 3104 Page Road, south of its intersection with Globe Rd within the City limits for the City of Durham in Durham County. The anticipated average daily flow for this project is 928 gallons./day. A permit was previously approved for this project (WQ0040873) on June 18, 2019. This included the installation of 552 feet of 6" PVC pipe with gravity flow passing through one cleanout and two manholes. This line discharge to a lift station, and a 2" PVC Schedule 80 force main that is 1,020 feet discharges into a Cleanout 10 feet from property. From here, a 6" PVC pipe with gravity flow passes to a second Cleanout at the Property line, which then flows through a 6" PVC pipe into Durham County maintained and operated area on Sounding Lane at Manhole No. T-16-115. The approved lift station is to be equipped with two pumps each with 44 GPM capacity. The effluent is to be pumped through a 2" PVC Schedule 80 pipe, with one air pressure relief valve. The total dynamic head (TDH) was computed to be 57.15 feet. A 30'-0 Private Easement is dedicated for this sewer line. As part of the Tanglewood project, a portion of the proposed force main from the lift station is to be replaced with a gravity sewer main. The gravity main will be permitted with the Tanglewood project. As a result of this change, the previously approved permit for the TMC Page Rd, An IAR project must be modified. The modifications to the previous approved project include reducing the length of the force main from 1,020 ft to 478 ft. The force main will discharge to 20 feet of 6" DIP service lateral that will drain into the proposed gravity outfall that is part of the Tanglewood project on the TMC Page Rd site. In addition to the reduction in the length of force main required, the previously shown air relief valve is also no longer required. As a result of the decreased force main length, the pumping characteristics change slightly. Instead of a pumping rate of 44 gpm, the pumping rate will increase to 49.3 gpm. The TDH will be reduced from 57.15 ft to 42.3 ft. Even with the increased pumping rate, the operation of the lift station is still at an acceptable operating point on the system curve and the cycle times in the station are acceptable. The lift station, force main, and upstream gravity system will remain private and on the TMC Page Rd site. The downstream 6" service from the force main to the new gravity outfall will be located within a Durham County sanitary sewer easement.
