NPDES permit NC0035904 is hereby rescinded, effective immediately. This message is to close the
permit file for the Division, and for your records.
If in the future you wish to discharge wastewater to the State's surface waters, you must first
apply for and receive a new NPDES permit.
PLEASE NOTE: as part of the Division's conversion to paperless communication, this email is the
only notification you will be sent regarding the permit rescission. No hard copy will be mailed.

Charles, please find the attached "official" permit recission request for the McCain WWTP. FRO has conducted the final
inspection and agree it is ready for recission.
Bob, this permit is on your spreadsheet for an inspection. Do I need to put something in BIMS to satisfy the EPA?
Please let me know when the permit is closed, and I will close any monitoring violations that are in BIMS.

Subject: NCDPS - McCain WWTP Closure - Rescind NPDES Permit (# NC0035904)
Good afternoon, Mark!
Hope you are doing well.
This is a formal request to the DEQ to rescind the subject NPDES Permit. For some time, the wastewater treatment
facility has been off-line. The tanks have all been completely empty. The DPS has pumped and hauled leftover
wastewater and sludge / effluent off -site. All tanks, structures and equipment have undergone a thorough pressure
washing and cleaning. A manhole upstream as well as the exit or discharge have both been sealed off with solid
concrete.
The DEQ has finished its last round of inspections. All necessary procedures have been followed, in accordance with the
applicable regulatory laws.
