In response to your letter dated July 20, 2022, pertaining to the inspection of the waste disposal
system located at Riverview Farms and subsequently resulting in violations, we have completed
required corrective actions.
The pick-up pump issue we had was due to sludge build-up in our tank which was causing it to
lose its prime. It took a few days to determine the cause of the problem. Once we determined
the cause, we aerated the tank repeatedly and were able to remove the sludge. We have
started aerating the tank once a month now to avoid any future sludge build-up. This process
should eliminate any future problems. We have also provided a back-up pump to avoid any
down time in the event the pump in use experiences any mechanical issues. The total cost we
incurred for repairs was $5,060.
Included with this letter is required pictures of the lagoon bank after bare areas were repaired
and trees and shrubs removed.
