Everything looks good except for a few small issues: Please correct the following and revise as needed: - Application: o Section IV, 10, Drainage Area 1 Column:  Please include the off-site BUA (14,609 sf) on the “Off-site” line.  Please also recalculate the “Total”, “Proposed Impervious Area”, and “% Impervious Area” values based on the prior comment. - Supplement-EZ Form: o Drainage Areas Page:  General:  Line 20 – The design volume of the SCM should match Line 35 of the Wet Pond Page.  There are some issues with the BUA accounting on this page. I tried to outline the issues in the below comments, but it may not be 100% clear. If it is not clear, please let me know and we can discuss further.  Entire Site Column:  Lines 7 & 11 – Off-site components are not required for the entire site column.  Line 8 – The sum of the DA columns for Line 8 does not equal the entire site column value for Line 8 and it should (58,332 sf + 48,359 sf = 106,691 sf ≠ 103,688 sf).  Line 9 – This value may need to be revised per later comment.  Line 10 – This value may need to be revised per later comment.  Line 12, Parking – This value may need to be revised per later comment.  Lines 19 – 21 – These items are not required for the entire site column.  DA 1 Column:  Line 8 – Please include the off-site BUA (Line 11) for this item. It is noted that off-site BUA is not located within the project, however, for this column this Line refers to the total amount of BUA within the drainage area to the SCM (72,941 sf) and should therefore include the off-site BUA.  DA 2 Column:  Line 8 – The sum of Lines 9 & 10 does not equal Line 8 and it should (23,790 sf + 24,566 sf = 48,356 sf ≠ 48,359 sf).  Line 9 – This value (23,790 sf) does not match the On-site Buildings/Lots value from Section IV, 10 of the Application (23,793 sf).  Line 10 – The sum of the Line 12 Items does not equal Line 10 and it should (5,845 sf + 2,673 sf + 16,036 sf = 24,554 sf ≠ 24,566 sf).  Line 12, Parking – This value (5,845 sf) does not match the On-site Parking value from Section IV, 10 of the Application (5,857 sf). o Wet Pond Page: 1  Line 2 – The minimum required design volume is based on the design storm and should correspond to the value shown in the calculations of 5,942 cf (5,644 cf provided).  Line 25 – The temporary pool elevation must be sufficient to provide at least as much storage as the minimum required treatment volume (Line 2). The provided temporary pool surface elevation, 203.06’, corresponds to a storage volume of about 4,600 cf (interpolated from the provided stage-storage table (4,280 cf of storage is provided @ elevation 203.0’)) which is less than the minimum required design volume (5,942 cf). For convenience, you may wish to set the temporary pool elevation equal to the invert of the bypass weir (203.36’). This should provide sufficient storage.  Line 26 – Per the provided stage-storage table, the provided surface area of the main pool at the permanent pool elevation (202.5’) is 6,312 sf (6,257 sf shown).  Line 35 – The design volume of the wet pond should be based off of the amount of storage provided between the permanent pool surface elevation and the temporary pool elevation (Line 25).  Line 37/55 – Per the plans (C-6.2), the orifice diameter is 1.7” (1.6” shown). o Low-Density Page:  Line 5 – The maximum velocity in the vegetated conveyances is shown in the calculations as 2.45 fps (Ditch 3)  Line 15 – You may wish to add a note stating that only Ditches 1-3 are curb outlet swales (subject to 15A NCAC 02H .1003(2)(d)) and Swales 4-6 are vegetated conveyances (subject to 15A NCAC 02H .1003(2)(c)) - Calculations: o Please provide the Manning’s “n” values used for the swale/ditch calculations, they did not appear to be included in the calculations (I back-calculated these values and they looked reasonable, I just want to make sure that these are the same values that you used). o The Ditch 3 calculation shows a longitudinal slope of negative 0.82%. - Other: o Ditch 2 (a curb outlet swale) is shown in the calculations as having cross-slopes of 2:1. Per 15A NCAC 02H .1003(2)(d)(iv), the maximum allowable cross-slope is 3:1. o Ditches 2 & 3 (curb outlet swales) are shown in the calculations as having bottom widths of 1’. Per 15A NCAC 02H .1003(2)(d)(iii), the minimum allowable bottom width is 2’. o There appears to be an error with the provided electronic version of the riprap calculations for PO 17 (see attached). The issue was not present on the provided hard copy so I was able to review it. Please provide the following: - 1x hard copy & 1x electronic copy of the revised pages of the Application. - 1x hard copy & 1x electronic copy of the revised pages of the Supplement-EZ Form. - 1x hard copy & 1x electronic copy of the revised pages of the calculations. - 2x hard copies & 1x electronic copy of the revised plan sheets (if needed). Hard copies should be mailed to me at the following address: For FedEx/UPS: Jim Farkas 512 N. Salisbury Street, Office 640E Raleigh, NC 27604 For USPS: Jim Farkas 1612 Mail Service Center Raleigh, NC 27699-1612 Hand Delivery: 2 Please reach out to me prior to hand delivering a submission to make sure that I (or someone else in my group) will be able to receive the submission. Do not leave the package in the foyer with the security guard. NOTE: Hard copies should not be sent to a Regional Office. Doing so will delay the review process and the submission package may be lost while being sent from the Regional Office to me in the Central Office. Electronic copies should be uploaded at the following location: https://edocs.deq.nc.gov/Forms/SW-Supplemental-Upload Since these are really minor things, once I get the hard copies, anything else that may have changed from addressing these issues, and the documents are uploaded to Laserfiche (Provided everything is still in order), we can issue the permit without doing another formal 30-45 day review.
