Bald Head Island Limited LLC has asked me to submit for renewal of SW8-980434 Row Boat Row which
is a High -Density Sformwater permit for the Bald Head Island Marina area to the north of the Bald
Head Island Marina entrance channel and west of the manna bulkhead along the southern end of
Row Boat Row
There are three sand infiltration basins SW-2 SW-3 & SW4 for Basins (Drainage Areas) 2 3 & 4 to the
riverside of the riverside houses outside of their rear fence line(s) The marina facing houses have 30
HDPE perforated pipe designed with an 18 elbow/grate with the grate end appx 32 landward of the
marina bulkhead i e outside of the 30 marina buffer These are along each side of the property line
fence lines in Basin # 1 Allot the lots have not been built on yet
The lots are covenant restricted to amount of bua
Please note that on 1-26-21 Lot 204 Row Boat Row obtained an individual High -Density Stormwater
Permit #SW8 201202 for on additional 2216 sf of onsite BUA with a similar HDPE Perforated Pipe
Infiltration "Trench' SCM for a lot total of 4 652 sf BUA The homeowner had not and has not yet
received a variance from the Harbour Association/Harbour Architectural Review Board (HARB)for this
additional impervious At this point there is no resolution for 204 Row Boat Row to use the SW8-201202
permit
Included is Bald Head Island LTD Planning and Permits check # 1604 dated 12-7 21 for the $505 renewal

Row Boat Row is not yet completed and probably will not be for many years as several lot owners
have purchased their lots for future retirement homes or as an investment Permit total maximum BUA
has not been exceeded and the lots are covenant restricted to amount of bua This is administered
by the (Bald Head) Harbour Association/ARB and the Village of Bald Head Island Building Inspector
Covenants/deed restrictions are believed to previously have been submitted

Bald Head Island Limited LLC has asked me to submit for renewal of SW8-980434 Row Boat Row which
is a High -Density Stormwater permit for the Bald Head Island Marina area to the north of the Bald
Head Island Manna entrance channel and west of the manna bulkhead along the southern end of
Row Boat Row Below is my SCM Inspection Report based on my 12-23-21 site visit and historical
knowledge of the project
There are three sand infiltration basins SW-2 SW-3 & SW4 for Basins (Drainage Areas) 2 3 & 4 to the
west/riverside of the riverside houses outside of their rear fence line(s)
The three sand infiltration basins are in place as designed riverward of the fences Lots 200 & 204 are
not yet built on Over the years from beach nourish ments/sand by-pass dredging a nice sized dune
has built up nverward of these infiltration basins Planted sea grasses such as sea oats and panicum
have migrated over the dune into the basins but this is a healthy thing for a riverfront infiltration basin
The marina facing houses are designed with 30" HDPE perforated pipe with an 18 elbow/grate with
the grate end appx 32 landward of the marina bulkhead i e outside of the 30 marina buffer to the
inside of their side property line fences I believe I remember that Bald Head Island Limited had all of
these installed in the early 2000 s except for lot 219 There may already be a designer certification in
the file by either Jeff Petroff then of Cape Fear Engineering or by myself Lots 209 215 and 219 are still
empty As expected I did not find any on Lot 219 There is quite of bit of scrub brush/vines on 209 and
215 1 was only able to find one of those 4 grates/pipes the one to the north side of lot 215 south
property line It had a cap cover rather than grate with the grate on the ground next to it to keep
the system clear of sand until time of construction I will need to get the landscape crew to bring
machetes to help me find the storm grates/pipe on 209 and the unfound one along the north property
line of 215
The grate along the south side of the north fence on Lot 217 was easily accessible and clear of sand
to its bottom The other built upon lots had walkways/pervious decks which obstructed my access to
the covers I will need permission to pull up deckboards to better assess the systems condition
