a reminder that permit renewal applications are due 180 days prior to their expiration per 15A NCAC 2H.1045(3).
North Carolina General Statutes and the Coastal Stormwater rules require that this property be covered under a
stormwater permit. Failure to maintain a permit subjects the owner to assessment of civil penalties. More

Thanks for your recent inquiry about Harvest Grove's State Stormwater permit. Our inspector, Jean Conway, went out
there recently to look into your concerns.
1.) French Drains: We did not find any French drains from adjacent properties that aren't supposed to drain to the
system. So, that is in line with what has been permitted.
2.) Orifice: The orifice is not clogged. Jean looked into the outlet structure and it is flowing freely. Water in the
pond likely appears to be high because we have had considerably higher rain in recent months than we normally
do.
3.) Depth of Sediment: As we discussed on 12/1/15, we do not have the tools to measure the depth of the
sediment. So, I do not have anything to report on that. Sediment depth is typically measured by a pond
maintenance contractor. If it has been a few years since it was cleaned out, then it may need to be done.

Georgette forwarded your question about maintenance costs to me. I have scanned the permit and O&M agreement
(which is on the final two pages). This document details the maintenance required for the pond. If you give this to your
landscaper or pond maintenance person he/she will be able to give you a price for the job.

Georgette forwarded your voicemail to me, and I am following up. This permit covers the area shown outlined in red in
the attached file. If there are other homes joining your HOA that are outside of this boundary, then they will not be
covered by this permit. They may have a separate permit, however. Many developers get a separate permit for each
phase of a subdivision. Also if you have updated HOA board information or a change in mailing address you can email
that to me, and I will make sure it gets updated in the file.
