GENERAL BLOCKING NOTES:
1. CONCRETE SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM 28-DAY STRENGTH OF 3,000 PSI.
2. BLOCKING DIMENSIONS AND VOLUMES PRESENTED IN THE "THRUST BLOCKING TABLE"
ARE BASED ON A SOIL BEARING CAPACITY OF 2,000 PSF. WHERE THE ACTUAL SOIL
BEARING CAPACITY DIFFERS FROM THIS VALUE, THE ENGINEER SHALL DETERMINE
REVISED DIMENSIONS AND VOLUMES FOR THE CONTRACTOR'S USE IN
CONSTRUCTING THE BLOCKING.
3. CONCRETE TESTING SHALL BE SUBJECT TO SECTION D OF THE SPECIFICATIONS, WITH
THE EXCEPTION THAT THE NUMBER OF CYLINDER TESTS SHALL BE BASED ON AN
AVERAGE OF APPROXIMATELY 1 PER 4 BLOCKS POURED. SHOULD ANY TEST FAIL,
ADDITIONAL TESTS MAYBE REQUIRED BY THE ENGINEER AT THE SOLE EXPENSE OF
THE CONTRACTOR.
4. CONCRETE SHALL BE FROM AN APPROVED READY -MIX PLANT UNLESS JOB -MIXED
CONCRETE IS SPECIALLY APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER ON -SITE.
5. THE BACK OF THE BLOCK (THRUST BEARING AREA) SHALL BE AGAINST UNDISTURBED
SOIL.
6. ALL FITTINGS AND ACCESSORIES SHALL BE WRAPPED WITH 10 MIL. POLYETHYLENE
PRIOR TO POURING BLOCKING. NO CONCRETE SHALL BE PLACED WHICH WILL
PREVENT THE DISASSEMBLING OF ADJACENT JOINTS. SHOULD CONCRETE COME INTO
CONTACT WITH ANY NUTS OR BOLTS, THE POURING OPERATION SHALL BE
IMMEDIATELY STOPPED, AND THE AFFECTED AREA BE THOROUGHLY CLEANED TO
ENSURE PROPER BOLT AND NUT OPERATION.

EROSION CONTROL GENERAL NOTES
THE ATTACHED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS GIVE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR EROSION CONTROL MEASURES. GRAVEL CHECK DAMS WILL BE LOCATED AT
THE END OF EACH VEGETATED SWALE. SILT FENCE IS LOCATED AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE SITE AS NOTED ON THE PLANS. A GRAVEL
CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE WILL BE CONSTRUCTED AT LOCATIONS INDICATED ON THE PLANS. THE GRADING CONTRACTOR WILL PROVIDE THE MAINTENANCE
FOR THE EROSION CONTROL MEASURES.
1. ALL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES SHALL BE PERFORMED IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE SEDIMENTATION POLLUTION CONTROL ACT OF 1973.
2. ALL LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITIES ARE TO BE PLANNED AND CONDUCTED TO LIMIT EXPOSURE TO THE SHORTEST FEASIBLE TIME.
3. ALL DISTURBED AREAS SHALL BE STABILIZED BY A PERMANENT GROUND COVER WITHIN 21 DAYS.
4. AS SOON AS ALL AREAS ARE PERMANENTLY STABILIZED, ALL PERMANENT MEASURES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED, AND FINAL APPROVAL IS RECEIVED
FROM THE LAND QUALITY SECTION, THE TEMPORARY MEASURES MAY BE REMOVED.
5. OVER THE LIFE OF THE PROJECT, THE OWNER SHALL MAKE PERIODIC INSPECTIONS TO EVALUATE THE SUCCESS IN CONTROLLING EROSION OF SOILS
TO OFF -SITE AREAS. IF AREAS ARE FOUND WHERE EROSION IS TAKING PLACE, THE OWNER SHALL TAKE THE NECESSARY MEASURES TO REMEDY THE
SITUATION.

MAINTENANCE PLAN
1. ALL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES WILL BE CHECKED FOLLOWING EVERY RUNOFF -PRODUCING RAINFALL AND AT LEAST ONCE EVERY WEEK.
NEEDED REPAIRS WILL BE MADE IMMEDIATELY.
2. SEDIMENT WILL BE REMOVED FROM TEMPORARY INLET PROTECTION WHEN SEDIMENT PREVENTS ADEQUATE FLOW THROUGH THE DEVICE.
3. SEDIMENT WILL BE REMOVED FROM BEHIND THE SEDIMENT FENCE WHEN IT BECOMES 0.5 FT. DEEP AT THE FACE OF THE FENCE. THE
SEDIMENT FENCE WILL BE REPAIRED AS NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN A BARRIER.
4. THE STORMWATER DETENTION POND SHALL BE CLEANED OUT TO DESIGN DEPTHS AFTER CONSTRUCTION AND ALL SEDIMENT REMOVED.
5. ALL SEEDED AREAS WILL BE FERTILIZED, RE -SEEDED AS NECESSARY, AND MULCHED ACCORDING TO SPECIFICATIONS IN THE VEGETATIVE
PLAN TO MAINTAIN A VIGOROUS, DENSE VEGETATIVE COVER.
6. GRAVEL CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE TO BE CLEANED WHEN SEDIMENT ACCUMULATIONS ARE .1SIBLE OR SEDIMENT IS DEPOSITED ON THE
