This flooding to caused several manholes to become submerged in water which obviously allowed water stem in enter the wastewater collections system and ultimately surcharged the wastewater collectionof the inflow that area. Once the system was surcharged, the Crouse Hinds lift station, which saw much chcollections from the flooding and became surcharged as well Due to the increased pressure m unable to adequately pump the increased flow system, the pumps at the Crouse Hinds lift station we � ft station to overflow. As soon as the overflows into the system causing two manholes located at the were noticedthe town took immediately action to stop the overflow by diverting a contracted septic , tank company tanker truck already working for the Town at its wastewater treatment plant to th lift P Y approximately 3,300 gallons roximatel 19,800 gallons (six loads at app Y station. The septic truck hauled app Y each) f com the station directly to our wastewater treatment plant to reduce the Flows into the lift station to a level that would stop the overflow. Within minutes, the overflows stopped as we were pumping down the lift station. The hauling continued until the station was able to adequately handle the flows that were coming into the system. We also put lime out on affected areas.
