Town Project ST1210 & ST1223 Sidewalk Improvements Bid

Dear Ms. Higgins:
The Town of Cary is proposing sidewalk connections at various locations within the Town of Cary limits.
A total of nine (9) sites were identified as potential stream buffer impacts. Upon further review, Town
Staff have determined this project will impact a total of three (3) stream buffer sites which are: Site #1
Southeast Cary Pkwy Opposite Hampton Valley Rd., Site #2 Southeast Cary Pkwy opposite Thurston
Dr. and Site #9 located at SW Cary Pkwy in the eastbound lane side just West of the Kilarney Ridge
Loop and Two Creeks Drive Intersection.
Enclosed with this cover letter are the supporting documents to this application:
1.) Three (3) complete BA10 -2013 Applications for Buffer Impacts Sites #1, 2 and 9.
2.) Two (2) full size sets and one (1) half -size set of Town of Cary sidewalk drawings Sites #1 thru #9.
3.) Three (3) sets of USDA Soils Maps, USGS 2013 Quadrangle Maps for Sites #1 through #9
depicting the proposed sidewalk improvements.
4.) Three (3) color photos of Site #3 at McCrimmon Parkway near the intersection of Davis Drive.
5.) One (1) set of Real Estate Transactions for Sidewalk Easements at Site #9 SW Cary Pkwy.
6.) One (1) copy of NCDENR Letter dated 8/20/14 Buffer Call for Site #3 McCrimmon Parkway.
On August 20, 2014 Ms. Sara Knies with Division of Water Quality conducted a site visit to Site #3
McCrimmon Parkway Sidewalk and determined in the attached letter dated August 20, 2014 that the
site is ephemeral; therefore, not subject to the State's buffer rules.
Please review and provide authorization of these proposed buffer impacts to Sites #1, #2 and #9 at
your earliest convenience.
