SUBJECT: Request For Update In Waste Load Allocation
Cliffside Sanitary District (Formerly Cone Mills Corporation)
Cliffside, North Carolina
Cleveland County
This Division is in the process of issuing an NPDES Permit to the
Cliffside Sanitary District which will transfer the Permit from Cone
Mills Corporation. The last WLA (copy enclosed) needs updating due to
the following reasons:
1. BPT limits for BOD, 5-Day, 20°C and TSS are now
based on secondary limits for municipalities since
secondary is more stringent than BPT as established
by Federal Guidelines.
2. There has been a change in product line and quantity
which alters BPT limitations.
3. There has been an update in stream flow data (copy
enclosed).
Enclosed is a WLA request which includes BPT limits and updated stream
flow data. Please rush allocation since the Division is already two years
late in issuing subject NPDES Permit.
