I asked Phil Post to check the condition of the channels late Tuesday evening and his report is below. Phil's report is of water discharging from drainage systems into the upstream end of the main channel on Slater's property. But there is also discharge into the channel farther downstream from the two house /lawn drainage systems at Slater's residence. In an earlier message recounting the intensity /duration of the rainfall, Phil said that in his experience with substantial rainfall, the golf course and house /lawn drains usually discharge for about 3 says. Then if irrigation restarts soon after the rain, a trickle of flow from the drainage discharge points continues for several more days. Slater's irrigation system applies so much excess water that the two discharge pipes for his drainage system have an almost content trickle of discharge during rain free periods. So, that is the artificial hydrology situation in a nutshell. My preference is to go ahead with your evaluation of the streams on Thursday if there is not any more substantial rainfall between now and then. I trust that with your experience, you can take into account the anthropogenic inputs of water into the channel. Many thanks, Jim James D. Gregory" <wathydro(a)-reagan.com> The 12 inch and the 4 inch under drain pipe are both flowing at 0.5 CDs at 8 pm tonight. On the uphill side of the fairway, the foundation drain from the large house is flowing at about 0.5 CDs. So out of the total water flowing onto Bob right now, about half comes from the under drain under fairway 46 and about half comes from the foundation drains from the large house just across the fairway and uphill from Bob.
