Tasha and Karen /Jennifer:
The following cost analysis is provided for developing a green -field mine site. If a " "High Purity Quartz
Deposit" was found in the United States of America that is of similar size and quality as that at the
Pine Mountain Mine it would be a long and difficult challenge to find the property, if not impossible.
Assuming one did find an economic deposit the cost to develop the mine site into production would
be approximately $49,300,000. This would include exploration, land acquisition, permitting,
engineering, mine equipment, and infrastructure. A new process plant which would include land
acquisition, process equipment including installation, plant mobile equipment, shipping and
infrastructure the costs would be approximately $42,200,000. Regarding waste from the plant, costs
to construct settling ponds, storage areas, and infrastructure would be approximately $11,500,000.
In summary the total cost estimate to build a green -field mine site similar to Pine Mountain with a
process plant and tailing areas would be $103,000,000. These costs were generated from research
done by the mining department at The Quartz Corp with support from the accounting department.
Please let us know if you have any questions about this cost analysis.
