In fulfillment of this deadline,the necessary NPDES renewal application accompanies. It consists of the following components: 1. EPA Form 1 2. EPA for 2C 3. Chemical Addendum Form and attachments for disclosure of additional pollutants and PFAS data 4. Nanofiltration WTP Process Flow Diagram -includes flow volumes and point of addition of chemicals— Discharge only occurs when producing water 5. Attachment listing contract laboratories 6. Topographic Map with latitude and longitude The current NPDES permit includes a compliance schedule for copper with a required compliance date within five years of the effective date of the permit. This date is January 31, 2023, the existing permit expiration date. Annual updates have been submitted on progress towards compliance with the copper limit each year as required. Increased monitoring since January 2019 has indicated consistent compliance with the daily maximum and monthly average limits outlined in the permit. CFPUA is requesting to terminate the compliance schedule with the expiration of this permit. Staff will continue to monitor copper per the permit requirements, evaluate and address any increasing trends in the data. Please let me know if there are any questions or whether the application is deemed complete. If all considerations are otherwise in order,we await receipt of a draft permit for our review. The raw water comes from the well field through separate lines containing water from either the Castle Hayne or Pee Dee Aquifers.Once water enters the plant,the pH of the water is adjusted and an anti-scalant is added.Water (1) then flows through spiral wound cartridge filters(5 micron),then through the nanofiltration membranes where the water is separated into permeate and concentrate(waste stream).At start up and shut down of the plant,raw water m bypasses the member and cartridge filters and flows into the concentrate line. 0 m The concentrate waste stream consists of untreated raw sourced groundwater or concentrated mineral content from the membrane treatment process.There is no treatment of the concentrate waste stream before discharge.There is also the ability to split the waste flow and discharge a portion of the waste stream to the POTW from the Castle Hayne membrane skid.
