As I indicated on the phone, unfortunately we had to make a few adjustments to our original proposal. I have attached the drawings for those changes and I will summarize the main changes below. As we discussed on the phone, we are asking if a modification to the 401 is necessary. We are trying to award a contract for this project this week. You should have two. Let me know if there are problems. One is fairly large. Summary of changes: - Drawing CS301 with typical cross - sections will describe the changes to the treatment types -The upstream and downstream project limits did Not change *Treatment areas 1 and 2 changed from log treatments with brush layering or wattles to toe stone with wattles. Available logs from trees that must be cut would be incorporated as they are available. These two treatments total approximately 225 linear feet (222' on the drawings) *Live logs have been eliminated from the proposal. *Currently B9 and B7 (right descending bank riparian planting areas) have been removed from the proposal. This would have required relocation of the trail to widen the riparian area. Although not obvious on the drawing the B5 area will also be slightly smaller than we planned. *Treatment 4 has been changed to not include brush layering but will include wattles. *Although "purchased" live logs and logs will not be included we plan to use, where appropriate, available logs from trees that will be removed as a result of the project. Please note that the contractor must have permission to cut trees over 4 inches in diameter at chest height. Those "available" logs are indicated on the drawing (CS301) as use of existing trees within the treatment as directed by the Contracting Officer (COR). Thanks again! Rebecca A.
