Describe the existing conditions on the site and the general land use in the vicinity of the project at the time of this application: * The shoreline is located where the lawn meets the adjoining waterbody. The lawn is slowly eroding away due to rising and falling waters from wind driven tides and coastal flooding during heavy rain events. 4b. Have Corps permits or DWR certifications been obtained for this project (including all prior phases) in the past?* 0 Yes No 0 Unknown 4f. List the total estimated acreage of all existing wetlands on the property: 4g. List the total estimated linear feet of all existing streams on the property: 4h. Explain the purpose of the proposed project: * The purpose is to stop the erosion by installing a riprap bank along the shoreline to help stabilize the soil and reduce erosion along this area this helping reduce excessive sediments from washing into the water body. 41. Describe the overall project in detail, including indirect impacts and the type of equipment to be used: * Along the shoreline, grading will be done in accordance to permit allowances to help shape the existing shoreline and replace some eroded shoreline to its original shape. Geosynthetic fabric will then be layed and rip rap will be installed on top of fabric. The lawn will then be graded to meet the top of riprap shoreline and will be seeded and strawed or hydro seeded to help prevent washout. Two pieces of equipment will be used, a mini excavator and a mid size class compact track loader to move materials. 5. Jurisdictional Determinations 5a. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing the project: The least amount of fill and stabilization materials have been calculated in the specifications to avoid as much site disturbance as possible. Special seeding formulations for the area were determined to have the greatest likelihood of success when seeding and stabilizing the soil after riprap installation. lb. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques: Equipment used has low ground pressure which will reduce the impact on the grounds. Hydroseeding/mulch will help eliminate the washing of any excess sediments after work is completed. 2. Compensatory Mitigation for Impacts to Waters of the U.S. or Waters of the State 2a.
