1. AlbemarlereceivedfundingthroughtheDivisionofWaterInfrastructurefor$16,453,000in
fundingforamajorrenovationtotheLongCreekWastewaterTreatmentPlant.Theprimary
objectiveoftheprojectistotransitiontheaerationprocessfromthefloatingaeratorsoverto
diffusedaeration.Theprojectwouldalsoprovidefor8,000,000gallonsofflowequalization
volumetomanagepeakflowevents.
2. TheEngineeringReportwassubmittedtotheNCDEQWastewaterProjectsUnitonAugust25,
2021.
3. ARequestforAdditionalInformationwasreceivedonNovember9th,2021.
4. TherevisedEngineeringReportwassubmittedbacktotheDivisionofWaterInfrastructureon
December8th,2021.
5. Theprojectcosthasincreasedto$19,385,000.ThiswaspresentedtotheAlbemarleCityCouncil
inDecemberof2021andCouncilreͲaffirmedtheircommitmenttotheproject.
6. TheFinalEngineeringReportwassubmittedonApril18th,2022.Weexpecttoreceivewritten
approvalfromNCDEQDWIanydaynow.
7. OnJune22,2022,theCitysubmittedarevisedSOCapplicationwithnewproposedmilestone
completiondates.Thesedatesreflectthescopeandtimelineoftheproposedimprovementsat
theWWTP,projectCS370522Ͳ08.Pleaseseethetablebelowforthosemilestonesanddates:

9. TheprojectCS370522Ͳ07iscurrentlyinthedesignphaseandwillbesubmittedtoDWIforreview
February2022.TheprojectisexpectedtobeginconstructionintheSummerof2022andtake
approximatelyninemonthstocomplete.
10. TheprojectdesignpackageforprojectCS370522Ͳ07wassubmittedtoDWIinearlyFebruary.DWI
completeditsreviewandprovidedcommentsonApril1st,2022.Finaldesignpackagewas
submittedonJuly7th.WereceivedPlansandSpecificationsFundingApprovalfromNCDWIon
July12th.WeplantoadvertisethismonthandopenbidsinearlySeptember2022.
11. OnJune22,2022,theCitysubmittedarevisedSOCapplicationwithnewproposedmilestone
completiondates.Theproposedworkforthecollectionsystemisslatedtobecompletedby
