I also appreciate your and everyone else's time and assistance during our site visit on July 12t", which I've summarized
below.
• Ryan Conchilla (DWR, 401 and Buffer Transportation Permitting Branch) and myself met with Josh Young at the
contractor's trailer located off Old Charlotte Highway
• A review of the self -monitoring records was conducted and discussions were held regarding reporting
procedures and corrective actions for silt loss events
• Observations were then made at the locations of silt loss events that occurred on June 17t" at STA 353 and 325
in Section B
• Discussions were held regarding restoration efforts, private property access, documentation, and involvement of
other agencies (DEMLR for any offsite sedimentation, DWR for sediment impacts to surface waters/wetlands)
• Recommendations were made regarding the appropriate assessment of potentially jurisdictional features not
already delineated
• Maintenance of existing sedimentation control measures, installation of additional measures as may be needed
to prevent offsite sedimentation, and adequate stabilization of disturbed/exposed areas within applicable
timeframes was relayed

Subject: R-3421B Silt Loss at STA 231+00 LT
Mike,
I finished up my EC walkthrough today and I found an area where a silt loss occurred.
There was approximately 2CY of material that washed under Special Sediment Control Fence Outlet and Silt fence at toe
of slope.
It appears that the silt loss occurred because and excess amount of sand from the RSS slopes washed down the fill slope
and undermined the perimeter EC measures.
The DEO (Art King) has given guidance on cleanup and efforts since this in a JS feature. Cleanup efforts are being made
now to return the site to original site conditions.
