On May 16, 2022, DWR-MRO staff performed a Compliance Evaluation Inspection of the
groundwater(GW) remediation system under permit NCG510547. The facility is located at 1343 Rock
Barn Road in Conover, NC.
During the site visit, DWR staff was informed that Speedway was purchased by 7-Eleven. 7-Eleven
will be using a different Environmental Contractor to maintain the GW remediation system. It is likely
the system will have completed remediation activities before the permit renewal in September 2025.
The effluent analytical data support this claim.
The system was not discharging during the site visit. Therefore, the outfall was not able to be viewed.
However, the effluent was viewed at the treatment system effluent sample port. No color solids, foam,
or odor were observed at the effluent sample port.

the trailer is locked when not being serviced.

staff reviewed O&M records for all of 2021 along with O&M records through May 2022.
Carbon Waste Manifests were sent to DWR staff via email on 5/18/2022.
