Dan River Intake Dredging - Phase II
Corey,
Steve Cahoon contacted me about Duke Energy's plans for the subject project. He explained that this phase of the
project would involve removal of approximately 80 to 100 cubic yards of sediment from around the intake
structure. They plan on pumping the dredge slurry into the existing ash basin and have checked with the NPDES
Wastewater Permitting & Compliance Program that this would be in compliance with their NPDES permit. I confirmed
that this phase of the project may be completed using WQC #3888 without written approval. I think Mr. Cahoon said
that they would begin work next week and just wanted to make sure that the Regional Office staff were aware of the
project.
