Andy and Dave,
This is in reference to WRC’s request to apply Design Standards in Sensitive Watersheds (DSSW) to the project. We have
not planned to incorporate Design Standards in Sensitive Watersheds (DSSW) for the project since the project doesn’t
not meet those required for DSSW.
There are no HQW zones. There are no effects to any aquatic T&E species. There are no streams on the 303d list for
turbidity. And the project is not within 1 mile of the critical area for a water supply. Here is a link to NCDOTs Erosion and
Sediment Control manual (ref pages 3-6 for DSSW requirements).
Implementing DSSW at this time could result in the need for additional ROW and redesign of the sediment erosion
control plan. This would most likely delay project Let. Please advise as soon as possible if this will be a requirement of
the 404 and 401 permit.
Dave,
I’m copying Amy C since you are on vacation.
Thanks for your attention to this matter.
Amy
