Land use in the project vicinity consists primarily of commercial development and community park along Lumber River floodplain.The Lumber River is considered"Wild and Scenic"in this
location.

The purpose of this project is to replace two structurally deficient bridges.

This project involves replacing the 285-foot,6 span Bridge 125 with a 295-foot,3 span structure and the 268-foot,6 span Bridge 175 with a 285-foot,3 span structure on the existing
alignment using an off-site detour.Standard road building equipment,such as trucks,dozers and cranes will be used.

N.C.Natural Heritage Program database;USFWS-IPAC query of project area;biological surveys for protected species,which include American alligator,
red-cockaded woodpecker,wood stork,and Michaux's sumac.Surveys are not required for American alligator due to its federal listing a Threatened Due
to Similarity of Appearance.There is no habitat for red-cockaded woodpecker or wood stork.Habitat for Michaux's sumac occurs within the study area.
An updated survey for the species was conducted on 06/29/2022 No specimens were observed within the study area.The biological conclusion for all
species is No Effect.

S.Army Corps of Engineers in attendance.It was determined that the project had a finding of No
Adverse Effect and all parties were in concurrence.Commitments have been included in the Project
Commitments sheet to comply with this No Adverse Effect determination.See the CE for additional information.
